My robin returned every year for 5 years. Sometimes she would build up to 8 nests along my eaves, all in  some stage of construction with one chosen for completion. Picking up anything that looked like nest material, the blue ribbon left by a yard party balloon,  hit the jackpot and was woven in exactly as I’ve painted it.
